The Institute of Brilliant Ideas
An innovative hub where smart people create
‘a place where people are busily occupied’
Who are we?
The Institute of Brilliant Ideas (IOBI) is an educational foundation set up by businessman and entrepreneur Michael Brown.
Its objectives are to develop partnerships between IOBI and educational establishments (academies, sixth form colleges, and universities) to develop and nurture projects focused on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. We believe that by leveraging the expertise and resources of these institutions, we can make a meaningful impact in the areas of sustainability and social responsibility.
This would support the positioning of IOBI as a leading proponent of driving change and initiatives for ESG within our market spaces.
It should also be noted that the new Government has already announced a series of private/public sector initiatives centred around green energy.

Our Objective
The objective of this partnership is to collaborate on projects that address key ESG challenges and promote sustainable practices within our industries. By working together, we aim to create innovative solutions that have a positive impact on our community and the environment.
1 year project initially, with aspirations for this to continue for following years.
Gold partnership project. £3k - £5k per year.
Potential start date September – pre-launch and press releases to be developed imminently.
Collaboration with Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme (SWFCCP)
We propose to work closely with SWFCCP initially to support their programme participants (20,000 pa) to achieve their goals and provide mentoring, support and opportunities.
Also to access the faculties, research centres, and experts from the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University to identify and develop projects that align with our ESG focus. Their knowledge, research capabilities, and access to a diverse range of students will prove invaluable in tackling complex sustainability issues.
Sheffield enjoys the largest student population (approx. 60,000 students pa) outside of London and hosts the Advanced Centre for Manufacturing which encompasses Boeing, Rolls Royce and McLaren.
Key focus around the North of the City – Southey Ward.
Supporting young people at risk of becoming NEET, who need a little extra support/mentoring to achieve their goals, through raising aspirations and providing new opportunities.
Potential partnerships with the local schools and community groups.

Utilisation of Dormole Infrastructure
To support and provide a foundation for our collaborative efforts, we plan to leverage the existing infrastructure of Dormole. By utilising the Dormole infrastructure at Bessemer, we can create a dedicated space where researchers, students, and industry professionals can work together on ESG projects.
